  • 36

A subdomain, (sometimes called a third-level domain name), is a part of a larger domain called the 'root domain'.

Your hosting package may allow you to host certain number of subdomains under your root domain.  You must have control of the root domain's DNS records to create a subdomain.

Examples of Subdomains:

  • subdomain.domain.com
  • www.compudata.ca
  • maps.google.com
